Enes Alic scored a dramatic 96th-minute equaliser to rescue a point for St Johnstone in a 1-1 draw with Falkirk. The Saints had to play the final 37 minutes with ten men after defender Cheick Diabate was sent off early in the second half.

The result keeps St Johnstone sixth in the Premiership table with eight points from their opening seven matches.

Falkirk took the lead on the hour mark when Ethan Ross finished from an Owen Eames assist. The goal came just seven minutes after Diabate received his second yellow card, leaving the home side with a mountain to climb. Manager S. Valakari responded with a triple substitution, bringing on Daniel Finlayson, Ruari Paton and Sam Stanton to try and change the game's momentum.

Despite having less possession and fewer shots, St Johnstone kept pushing and were rewarded deep into added time. Alic, who had been booked minutes earlier, found the net to spark wild celebrations at McDiarmid Park. The late goal means the Saints' recent form reads one win, two draws and two losses from their last five outings.

Diabate's dismissal, following a first-half caution, forced a major reshuffle. The defender will now face a suspension, adding to Valakari's selection concerns ahead of the next match. The team showed resilience to fight back, with goalkeeper T. Steward making three important saves to keep the deficit at one goal.

St Johnstone now have a break before their next Premiership fixture, an away trip to face Aberdeen on October 11.

Manager Simo Valakari confirmed Enes Alic's 96th-minute equaliser was a stunning 25-yard free-kick. The club also stated the East Stand at McDiarmid Park was closed due to an electrical fault, forcing home fans into other stands. The draw leaves St Johnstone sixth in the Premiership with eight points from seven games, having scored nine and conceded ten this season.
