Josh Fowler has scored half of St Johnstone's Scottish Premiership goals this season, underlining his importance to a side struggling for defensive solidity. The forward's four goals from the team's total of eight is the highest proportion of any player for a single club in the division.

St Johnstone's current run without a clean sheet has now stretched to 12 top-flight games, a sequence that includes all six of their league matches this term. This is their longest such streak since December 2012, when they went 15 games without shutting out the opposition.

The team's recent 1-1 draw with Falkirk on 19 September continued the pattern, with Enes Alic's late equaliser salvaging a point after Ethan Ross had put the visitors ahead. That result leaves St Johnstone sixth in the Premiership table with eight points from seven games.

The meeting with Falkirk was the first between the sides in the top flight since the 2009-10 season. St Johnstone avoided defeat in all four contests that campaign, winning two and drawing two. Falkirk, who are winless in five away league outings, last managed consecutive top-flight wins over promoted sides in November 2007 against Gretna.

With nine goals scored and ten conceded this season, St Johnstone's goal difference stands at minus one.
